Midwest's Largest Flea Market!
2010 HOURS Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 8am-5pm (May 4 - Oct 27, 2010). Each year from the first of May through the end of October, you can find hundreds of vendors selling everything from fresh fruit to handcrafted furniture at the Shipshewana Flea Market. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays the small community of 536 comes alive with traffic lining the streets to see this "do not miss" Hoosier tradition.
The atmosphere surrounding the Flea Market is one of a kind. It is not hard to find a friendly face on these streets, nor is it difficult to keep oneself busy with the numerous activities Shipshewana has to offer.
If shopping through nearly 900 Flea Market vendors is not enough to satisfy your treasuring hunting desires, you can walk across the street to the Trading Place Antique Gallery, or walk the short distance to the wide variety of shops downtown.
Don't even think of leaving the area without experiencing home-style Amish cooking at the "Auction Restaurant" on the Flea Market grounds. Here you'll find the best homemade pie around! Click here to see the menu

Our Miscellaneous & Antique Auction is held every Wednesday, year round, except for Christmas and New Years (50 auctions a year). The auction starts by the sound of the bell at 9:00 a.m. sharp! Eight to ten auctioneers will take up the auction cry.
Our main market thrust is for the better quality antique and collectable type item, however as one of our old time auctioneers, Argie, used to state, "We sell anything from soup to nuts!"
An average auction will take ten auctioneers from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. The auction is held in an 80' by 200' enclosed facility, heated in the winter for your comfort and made to open in the summer, letting in the fresh, cool, country summer breezes. A snack bar as well as restrooms are located in the auction building for your convenience.
Every Wednesday we have people in attendance from all across the country. Many of our customers are here every Wednesday, both buyers and sellers, while every Wednesday there are people in attendance for the very first time. First time or for the last 40 years, we appreciate your business. If you are interested in selling, give us a call to reserve your auction space and click here for seller information. If you are wanting to buy - one time or a box truck full, this is the place! Upcoming Special Auctions...
What is now one of the most popular destinations in the Midwest started in 1922 when six pigs, seven cows and several head of young cattle were sold at the home of George Curtis during the very first auction. Today the tradition of the weekly livestock auction still holds true. Every Wednesday, we begin selling hay at 10am and then feeder pigs at 11am. Every Friday our horse and tack auction begins at 9am. We have several special horse auctions throughout the year, with two large saddle horse auction on Good Friday and the day after Thanksgiving. Click here for more information on our horse auctions.
